Trauma & C/PTSD Therapy
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), is a condition that can arise after experiencing a traumatic event at any stage of life. Common symptoms include flashbacks, nightmares, feelings of detachment, and distressing memories, which can be debilitating for some people.
Differing from PTSD, Complex PTSD arises from prolonged, continuous exposure to trauma where the individual has little hope that it will end or cannot imagine a time when it might.
This can result from experiences such as child abuse, extended domestic violence, captivity, living in crisis conditions or war zones, child exploitation, human trafficking, and other similar situations.
Building a relationship with a therapist can help you identify the activators of associated symptoms, learn coping strategies, and alter your responses and relationship to the trauma.
